
Governance Board
The Governance Board (GB) was implemented by Sagewood Middle School to establish a shared decision-making process which involves representation by staff, parents, and community.
The GB's elected membership includes both classified and certified staff. Elections are conducted in May from a ballot of nominated candidates. The elected members serve a two-year term. The GB's non-elected members include administration, a business/community non-parent member, a representative each from PTO and SAC. They serve a one-year term.
The GB is tasked with topics concerning school policy in relation to students, staff, and building. Topics for discussion may be submitted to any GB member. Meetings are conducted on a twice a month basis.
