Thank You

The administration would like to say thank you to all of the students of RCHS for a wonderful start to the year. We appreciate the responsibleness of the upperclassmen in their handling of open campus. It has
proven to be time well spent for all involved. Once again our Rock Canyon community has shown its Jaguar pride. We wish all of our families a successful and productive school year.

Dress Code

Parents, we need your assistance with student dress code concerns. Students are expected to be dressed in appropriate attire at school. For a complete copy of the dress code students and parents should refer to page 23 in the Student Planner. No pajamas, sleepwear, spaghetti straps, ripped/torn clothing, saggy pants or hats are permitted. Students will be warned /documented on the first offense, will be given an hour detention and parental phone call on the second offense, and sent home on the third offense. Hats in the building and the addition of Open Campus have created a security concern for identifying our students and approved visitors to the building. As of October 1, 2009, No Hats will be permitted in the building during school hours – this will include those being carried through the hallways. Students will be warned for the first offense, parents will need to pick up hats for a second offense, and students will receive disciplinary action on the third offense. Please contact the Main Office for clarification.

Open Campus

Open campus is considered a privilege and may be revoked at any time if students violate this policy. Ninth
graders are not eligible for the Open Campus Privilege per District Policy inclusive of lunch periods. Students are provided several options for release periods that do not disrupt the learning environment.
Students who leave campus at a time other than a release period without permission will be subject to disciplinary action. Students who leave campus for lunch must return on time. Tardies resulting from this lunch period will be unexcused. There will be no food or drink permitted in the hallways or classrooms at any time. Please refer to page 9 in the Student Planner for a complete copy of the Open Campus Policy.
