Attention Students:
If you did not order a yearbook, you still have an opportunity to get one. There will be a yearbook lottery held on Thursday, May 8th at 2:45 p.m. in the cafeteria. To take part in the lottery, please see the bookkeeper for a lottery ticket. Fifty (50) yearbooks will be available for $65 each. Please bring $65 CASH ONLY with you on Thursday, May 8th.

 

 

Junior Carly Bowman won 1st place and a $50 gift card to Target for a newsletter she designed at Rocky Mountain Spirit Journalism Camp this summer in July... also The Ponderosa Eques Yearbook Staff won 1st place in 5A for Best Yearbook Development.

The Ponderosa Eques Yearbook was honored at many levels at the CHSPA state journalism conference. Heather Meadow won 2007 Best of Show for a photo she took for the 2008 yearbook. The yearbook also won 1st place for photo spread, 2nd place for portrait design and 3rd place for theme development through copy.

The Mustang Express (student newspaper) was honored at many levels at the CHSPA state journalism conference. They earned 1st place for Editorial Cartoon, 2nd place for Editorial, and 2nd place for Sports Column. They were also recognized in 2nd place for the Organ Donor Awareness Contest for full page coverage of organ donation.

Congratulations to junior, Craig Hirokawa, on his 6th place win in FBLA's National Conference in Principles and Procedures. He is the first National FBLA winner from PHS!

2008 Senior, Kara Babcock, was elected state representative for CHSAA State Student Government. (First election of a PHS student!)

Congratulations to the Class of 2007 for earning 4.68 million dollars in scholarships! Good Luck in college!

Each year PHS students can choose from over 200 courses to take at PHS - 15 of which are Advanced Placement classes.

62% of Ponderosa teachers have their Master's degree's and 2 % have their doctorate degrees

In 2007, PHS custodians received a 98% rating on the building inspection - that's a record!

Ponderosa High School has an active parent SAC group and is the only high school in the district that has an active PTSA organization
