During the 2007-2008 school year, a project began to build a new school store at Ponderosa. Proposed by Mr. Murphy, and approved by the administration, the Stang Shoppe began construction in 2007. The students in Mr. Becker's Marketing II class made the plans for the store. The students designed the clothes and merchandise, and decided what foods to carry. They planned the layout of the store, and put in the orders for all of the merchandise and decided on the equipment to be used with the help of Mr. Becker. Finally, by the end of first semester, all of the orders had been delivered and the cabinets and shelves were in. The students worked to put everything together to open the store. Some students advertised the store during lunches and in the school newspaper to spread awareness, while others actually put the layout of the store together. They organized the merchandise and even decorated the back cabinets. Eventually, by the end of the semester, the school store was finished. It officially opened right before Winter Break, and has been open almost everyday since then.
