The English Department offers 11 courses from which students can earn their 4 English credits, including two Advanced Placement classes. In addition, the English Department provides students 3 courses from which to earn their required .5 speech credit. The English Department is also home to the newspaper and yearbook classes, in which past staffs have created award-winning publications. And for those students who just can't get enough writing opportunities in their English class, Creative Writing is offered as a .5 credit elective. The English Department also sponsors two clubs: Great Books and Free Reins Writing Club. Both clubs meet after school at least once a month and students of all grade levels are welcome. The English teachers understand that writing is a process that often requires one-on-one coaching and thus encourage students to attend the Advisement Writing Lab and the Tuesday After-School English Help Lab. Both take place in the Media Center Computer Lab and are staffed by volunteer English teachers. ...Just click on the link of your choice; you can use the "back" button to return to previous pages.
