The Mountain Vista High School Counseling Department is a comprehensive guidance and counseling program facilitating student growth in academics, career, and personal / social development. We are committed to serving and supporting students, families, and staff through listening, problem-solving, informing, guiding, nurturing, for the purpose of inspiring all toward extraordinary efforts.

How To See A Counselor

~Students - Counselors have sign-up sheets on a clipboard that hangs next to their door. Sign-up in the time slot you want to see your counselor. Mrs. Neely will give you a pass to return on the day of your appointment.
~Parents - Please call 303-387-1526 to make an appointment or to speak with your student's counselor.

Canadian Colleges and Universities	Resource of information on post-secondary and graduate education in Canada. The main feature of the site is the School Search - enter your post-secondary or postgraduate preferences and get a list of all Canadian schools that meet your needs. You can then browse through detailed School Info - information on academics, sports, admissions, student activities, computer facilities and housing.
Careers and Colleges	Comprehensive, but somewhat commercial site on a variety of post secondary opportunities.
College and University Rankings	College and University ranking online sites and the controversy that surronds such rankings. The purpose of this page is to draw together and provide contect to various college ranking services.
College Crime Stats	College and university campus crime data is available from two major sources, the U.S. Department of Education which collects statistics from more than 6,000 schools, and the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting program which includes data for about 400 schools. The most recent statistics from each government agency are available from this page. Due to differences in reporting standards statistics reported under one program may not match those reported in the other.

Collegiate Choice Walking Tour Videos	Tours are simple, non-promotional videos of the student guided campus tour offered at over 330 colleges and universities across the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, and Scotland. These videos are not professionally produced. Guidance counselors, not commercial film makers, are doing the recordings. $15/college tour + shipping.

Corporation for National Service	Learn how you can make a difference by serving with an Americorps or Learn and Serve America Program. After their term of service, AmeriCorps members receive education awards that help finance college or pay back student loans.

Peterson's Education Center	The Education and Career Center includes consistently organized information about educational opportunities at all levels.
