How To See A Counselor |
~Students - Counselors have sign-up sheets on a clipboard that hangs next to their door. Sign-up in the time slot you want to see your counselor. Mrs. Neely will give you a pass to return on the day of your appointment.
~Parents - Please call 303-387-1526 to make an appointment or to speak with your student's counselor.

Ms. Teegerstrom - (A-Collins)
Prior to coming to Mountain Vista, I was a counselor in Wyoming and at ThunderRidge. I have worked as a peer facilitator and conflict mediator. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling. I hold a Colorado counseling license and am a National Certified Counselor, My husband and I share eight children and three cats. |

Mr. Polley - (Combs-G)

Master of Arts, School Counseling, Long Island University, New York. I have been a counselor since 2005. I previously worked in the financial industry in NYC for 4 years. I began my counseling career in Mount Pleasant, SC working with at risk students. I have never lived above sea level until I came to Colorado. I love to play ultimate frisbee, go snowboarding, and other forms of athletic activity that are too numerous to list.

Thirteen years of experience teaching middle school Home Economics in 3 different school districts.
Before coming to MVHS I was a the counselor for six years at Eagle Academy Alternative High School.
I am married and have 2 wonderful children. Our family time is spent with many activities, especially high school sports.

Ms. Delgado - Registrar
I was born and raised in Fresno, California. I worked for Pacific Bell in California in the Business Marketing and Engineering Departments. I worked for Pacific Bell for 21 years before moving to Colorado in February of 2000. I have worked for Douglas County Schools since October 2000, 7 months at Cresthill Middle School as the Counseling Secretary, and have been here at Mountain Vista High School since the school opened May 2001. I am married, have one daughter, three dogs, one cat & a bird. I feel very fortunate and blessed to be working with such a wonderful group of people in the Counseling Office. |

I was born and raised in Chicago. I moved to Colorado in 1993. Prior to coming to MVHS, I spent 6 years at Bear Canyon Elementary as Registrar/Attendance Secretary/Health Room Assistant. Now I get to see those BCE kids as they come through MVHS! I also spent 20 years as a legal secretary, 10 in Los Angeles and 10 in Seattle. I thoroughly enjoy being here! |

Ms. Schafer- Post Grad Secretary
I was raised, educated and married in Nebraska. I am married to a very supportive husband and we have five wonderful children. We moved to Colorado in 1994 and love it here. I have been an aide at Sand Creek Elementary, Cougar Run Elementary and Platte River Academy Charter schools. At Platte River Academy, I also was the registrar and middle school secretary. I now enjoy working with a terrific group in the Counseling office as the Post Graduate secretary. |

Ms. Rhonda McClain-Counseling Secretary
I am a fifth-generation native of Colorado, and have lived in Highlands Ranch with my husband and two children since 1997. Though I have been a stay-at-home mom for most of the past 20 years, I worked at Platte River Academy for 1 ½ years, acting as registrar and middle school secretary. I came to Mountain Vista in early 2003 as a temporary employee, and loved it so much I couldn't leave. Since that time, I have been Copy Room Assistant, Receptionist, Health Room Assistant, and Attendance Secretary, and now am very happy to be a part of the Counseling Office staff. |

Previous public school experience includes providing educational support within a magnet school program (San Diego Unified School District), within gifted/ talented programs and open classroom settings (Cherry Creek School District), and participation in an internship program providing outdoor/experiential education programs and behavior interventions for at risk youth (Douglas County School District). Previous placements within the Douglas County School District included South Street Elementary, Eagle Academy, D.C. Oakes High School and the Douglas County Behavior Support Team. I come to Mountain Vista directly from Ponderosa High School where I served as the school psychologist for the last 2 years.
I believe that working with high school students is the greatest job on earth and I am so honored to be working here with the dedicated staff and wonderful students here at Mountain Vista! |

My education includes a Bachelors Degree of Social Work from New Mexico State University.
I have a Masters Degree of Social Work from the University of Denver.
My credentials also include a Clinical Licensed in Social Work with the state of Colorado.
I am currently working on a Masters Degree in Education at Regis University to broaden my practice.
I have always had respect for education and a passion for working with youths and their families which is my reasons for dedicating a career in school social work. I have been a school social worker for almost ten years. Previous to working at MVHS, I worked in Denver Public Schools experiencing school social work at all levels though the majority of my work has been at the high school level. My true love is working with high school students. I have also enjoyed assistant coaching track and cross country as well as sponsoring student leadership activities.
