Hi, I am Adam Coulson. I have been the photography and graphic design teacher at Highlands Ranch High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado since fall of 2006.

Through art, I teach students skills in creativity that allow them to problem solve and look at the world through the eye of a designer. Using computers is an important part of my classes as careers in graphic design and photography rely heavily on digital design.

Photography classes have both a 35mm darkroom component and a digital Adobe Photoshop component. In the traditional section student learn about the SLR cameras and the development process and in the digital component student experiement with some of the many possiblities Photoshop allows photographers.

Our graphic design program focuses on commercial graphic design through the use of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop design software. We learn about the design process used in creating logos, book covers, posters, and packaging design.
