Hi, I am Mr. Adam Coulson, the photography and commercial art teacher at Highlands Ranch High School since fall of 2006.

Through art I teach students creativity skills that allow them to problem solve and look at the world through the eye of a designer. Using is an important part of my classes as career paths in graphic design and photography are a very digital type of design.

Photography classes have both a 35mm darkroom component and a digital Adobe Photoshop component. In the traditional section student learn about the SLR cameras and the development process and in the digital component student experiement with some of the many possiblities Photoshop allows photographers.

Our commercial art program focuses on commercial graphic design through the use of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop design software. We learn about the design process used in creating logos, book covers, posters, and packaging design.
