Educational Philosophy
Education has always been a high priority for myself and for my family. Because of the many experiences I have had as an educator and father, (and being raised in a family of educators), I find that my philosophy of education is rooted in three basic ideas:
* All children can become successful lifelong learners.
* High expectations and standards must be maintained by students, parents, and teachers.
* There must be a deep respect for the individual.
When these attainable ideals are consistently modeled and practiced by all people involved in the educational process, true learning will take place.

Educational Experience
Over the past 15 years in education I have taught 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades, but I have also had the privilege of teaching summer school to 1st - 3rd, and 7th - 8th grades. During this time I was also involved in school administration for four years, but found my passion and calling was to be in the classroom learning with students. Over the years, I have enjoyed opportunities to work with diverse student populations in a variety of programs including ESL, Gifted and Talented, and Computer Programming. In addition to my regular teaching duties for the past five years, it has been rewarding to be a Technology Facilitator/Trainer and a Mentor Teacher for new teachers entering the profession.
