Educational Philosophy

Children are like sponges. They absorb all your strength and leave you limp. But give them a squeeze and you get it all back.

Learning is discovery. Learning is fun. To teach is to be a life-long learner.

Each student should be challenged and has the right to work at his or her pace, level, and ability with success.

All children have gifts and talents.

Respect and responsibility for self, others, and property are essential elements of a positive and successful learning environment.

Naiveté and innocence are the beauty of children. Open minds and curiosity bring joy to teaching and learning.

In each and every one of us is a spark that can be ignited with the right ingredients.

Never underestimate the capability of children.

Growth isn’t always measured by numbers, its often what can’t be measured that leads to success.

These experiences include working with ESL (English as a Second Language) students, bilingual education, migrant children. The bulk of my elementary experience has been in grades K-8; regular and gifted classrooms.
