Have you ever heard of Double Dutch, Wounded Duck, Toe-to-Heel, or Criss Cross?  These are all jump rope tricks that the students at Buffalo Ridge learned and practiced to get ready for the 8th Annual Jump Rope for Heart on February 14, 2008. Over 250 Buffalo Ridge students participated, raising $10,247.00 for the American Heart Association.  The money raised goes toward research for a cure for heart disease.

Ms. Gutierrez (P.E. teacher at BRE) said, “Jumping rope strengthens our hearts and improves our cardiovascular systems.”

“It’s a good community service project that helps others and promotes a healthy lifestyle,” added Ms. O’Neill (P.E. student teacher at BRE).

Students who jumped the longest were awarded a ribbon “2008 Jump Rope for Heart."  Everyone who participated was a winner in the end!

So... grab a jump rope and start jumping!cometskippers.org/store/photos/DSC01344.JPG
