Nuestro Musicalito – Our Little Musical By Lindsey Hulett and Megan Harrity |
Buenas Noches. Bienvenidos a la presentacion de ‘Nuestro Musicalito’ del grado trecero! Confused? Not sure what this says? Well let us tell you. Good evening, and welcome to the third grade presentation of Our Little Musical. On February 28, 2008, family and friends were treated to an evening of Spanish music, lively Latin dancing, and colorful handmade t-shirts. The theme of this year’s show was chosen because the new focus at Buffalo Ridge this year is world language. Students spend three days a week learning Spanish in the classroom from Senorita Pedersen. “Learning a new language is hard because you’ve been speaking English all your life,” said Keara Werth, a third grader. |
Ms. Gutierrez and Ms. O’Neill (two of the show's directors) said the most rewarding part in creating the show was seeing it all come together. In order to prepare for the show, students practiced dancing in P.E., singing in Music, and made t-shirts in Art. Ms. O’Neill, the student P.E. teacher, said she was excited to teach the students something different, and they did a nice job learning dances they hadn’t known before. “Not seeing students often and not getting all five classes together at once, was very challenging,” said P. E. teacher, Ms. Gutierrez. The show began with the students singing "De Colores,"
and entertained with additional songs like "It’s the Rhythm and Imo Gal." |

All the directors of the show agreed that the show was a great success and there wasn’t anything that they would change. |
