The Body of Water By Haden Jacobson, Kaitlin Dunn, |

At this station we talked about why water is important to the human body. We talked about the bladder, the mouth, the brain, and the stomach. At the mouth station, we taught students about different foods that can hydrate you, such as celery or strawberries (93% and 90% water respectively). At the brain station we taught why the brain is important to our bodies (why you need water to think and function). The brain is actually 80% water. At the stomach station we told the students that sweat is 99% water. We had them do 10-20 crunches to show that exercising is good but you lose a lot of water while doing it. At the bladder station, we explained to the students that the bladder occasionally needs to be emptied. Then, we had them pour water from a container into another container, which represents the bladder being emptied. So you must drink a lot of water each day to avoid becoming dehydrated. So drink WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
