MATH: NUMBER SENSE
 
• Reads, writes, identifies and demonstrates the value of whole numbers through 10,000.
 
• Orders and compares numbers 0 - 10,000.
 
• Converts fractions to decimals.
 
• Demonstrates properties of addition in oral and written form.
 
• Estimates and explains reasonableness of solutions and thought processes in determining solutions.
 
MATH: COMPUTATION
 
• Memorizes and uses multiplication facts 0 - 12.
 
• Demonstrates and explains addition and subtraction of whole numbers with and without regrouping, with totals to 100,000 using paper/pencil.
 
• Explains orally or in written form why operations or mathematical skills are chosen.
 
For a “3” Second Trimester
 
 
MATH: NUMBER SENSE
 
• Reads, writes, identifies and demonstrates the value of whole numbers through 100,000.
 
• Orders and compares numbers 0 - 100,000.
 
• Converts decimals to fractions.
 
• Demonstrates properties of addition, and subtraction in oral and written form.
 
• Estimates and explains reasonableness of solutions and thought processes in determining solutions.
 
 
MATH: COMPUTATION
 
• Memorizes and uses multiplication facts 0 - 12 and multiples of 10, 100, 1000.
• Adds multiple numbers.
 
• Multiplies 2-digit by 1-digit numbers with and without regrouping using paper/pencil.
 
• Explains orally or in written form why operations or mathematical skills are chosen.
 
For a “3” Third Trimester
 
MATH: NUMBER SENSE
 
• Reads, writes, identifies and demonstrates the value of whole numbers through 100,000 and decimals through hundredths.
 
• Orders and compares numbers 0 - 100,000 and fractions and decimals through hundredths.
 
• Converts decimals, common fractions, and simple mixed numbers.
 
• Demonstrates properties of multiplication, addition, and subtraction in oral and written form.
 
• Rounds numbers from 0 - 100,000.
 
• Estimates solutions and explains reasonableness of solutions and thought process used in determining solutions.
 
MATH: COMPUTATION
 
• Memorizes and uses multiplication and division facts 0 - 12 and multiples of 10, 100, 1000; maintains addition and subtraction skills.
 
• Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides whole numbers.
 
• Adds and subtracts fractions with like denominators and decimals to hundredths.
 
• Identifies which operations were used to solve problems involving whole numbers, decimals, and fractions in oral and written form, and explains why these operations were used.
