Dream Team at Buffalo Ridge is well into its fifth year of student leadership and community service. The student-led organization is run by executive officers who are nominated and elected from the fifth grade members. These students are recognized to be leaders by the staff, the community, and their peers.

 

 

    Each meeting of the Dream Team is conducted like a business meeting with the President and/or Vice President presiding over and guiding the meeting with an agenda. Business accounts and the status of all ongoing and future activities are reported by the Treasurer, minutes of the meeting are kept and recorded by the Secretary, and a scrapbook of the year’s accomplishments is compiled by the Secretary and the Historians.

 

 

    Dream Team supports its activities and expenses through fund-raisers. These are organized and run by the members, and promote self-direction, decision-making processes, organizational skills, the democratic process, and problem-solving skills.

 

 

    Since its inception, the primary focus of Dream Team has been giving back to our school community, our state and local communities, and our national and worldwide communities. Dream Team members volunteer one morning a week to tutor and help other Buffalo Ridge students with homework and study skills. Our Team has the honor of being the youngest organization to sponsor a blood drive in conjunction with Bonfils Blood Center. We collect non-perishable foods at various times of the year to support the Bronco‘s Wives food drive and local food banks, we have sponsored other fund-raising activities for Nationally recognized charities such as UNICEF and Pencils for Peace.

 

 

    All Dream Team members agree to conduct themselves by a set of standards that sets them apart as examples of student behavior for the school community. Our Dream Team (and school's) MOTTO: Work Hard, Get Smart, Make a Difference! MISSION STATEMENT: As Dream Team members we believe we can and should give back to our community by helping others in our school and local communities, as well as our state and worldwide communities. As student leaders we will develop skills and experiences for future leadership roles, confidence building, and conduct ourselves as ambassadors of Buffalo Ridge to students from other schools and communities.
