Don’t forget about earning community service hours. Every Douglas County student must accrue 20 hours of community service in order to graduate. There are official forms with Ms. Radil. She also has a packet of interesting possibilities and contacts.
LaRaza Youth Leadership Committee is hosting the 16th annual Leadership Conference on Saturday, April 28, 2007. This conference teaches students about leadership, careers, self-esteem, and cultural awareness. Cost is $15 per student and community service hours will be given. Scholarship Information
The Colorado Education and Training Voucher Program offers funds to foster students to help them attain vocational training or post secondary education. To be eligible, youth must have been in foster care at 16 years of age or older. They must be between the ages of 17-21. For more information, go to www.statevoucher.org
Teen with a Dream is offering scholarships to students that have had cancer. If this applies to you, contact Laurie Portman at Ponderosa High School. The deadline is March 23, 2007.
Douglas County Schools is offering an Administrator’s Scholarship worth $1,000.00 to a student from each high school in the district. The deadline for the application is Friday, February 23. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Bliek for the packet and more information.
Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. is offering a School to Career Scholarship. If you are planning on earning a degree in a construction related field, please see Mrs. Bliek for the application. The deadline is March 31, 2007.
